Mean Girls Text Motion

For this Mean Girls Text Motion, my assignment was to select a clip from a film or piece of media and create a motion design using only text . I chose a monologue from Mean Girls, animating Gretchen Wieners’ iconic rant about Regina (“Caesar”).

My goal was to capture the chaotic, dramatic, and over-the-top energy of the scene as well as the aesthetic of the movie purely through typography. By exaggerating scale, pacing, repetition, and sharp transitions, I translated the emotion and humor of the monologue into movement. This project challenged me to rely entirely on type to communicate tone, character, and personality.
